Introduction
Corsley Heath is a development of eight high-quality modular homes delivered for Wiltshire Council using modern methods of construction. The scheme comprises a mix of six houses, as well as two fully accessible bungalows, offering both social rent and shared ownership tenures.
Rollalong built these modular homes off-site at our Dorset manufacturing facility before transporting and installing them in Corsley Heath, a village located between Warminster and Frome. The project demonstrates how modular construction can deliver affordable, energy-efficient housing that complements the local character while minimising disruption to the surrounding community.
The Challenge
Wiltshire Council sought to meet local housing needs by providing affordable homes quickly and sustainably, without compromising on quality or design.
The goal was to produce homes that were both environmentally responsible and cost-effective, while maintaining the appearance and durability typically associated with traditionally built housing.
The Solution
Rollalong manufactured the homes as 30 modules within our controlled factory environment in Dorset. This off-site approach ensured consistency, quality, and minimal waste. We delivered the modules to the site fully fitted with kitchens, bathrooms, and service installations, allowing for swift assembly and reduced site time.
Each home meets the Nationally Described Space Standard (NDSS) in full and is designed for net-zero operational performance, featuring all-electric heating systems powered by air source heat pumps. High levels of insulation and airtightness reduce energy use and running costs, providing residents with warm, efficient homes.
Architecturally, the development has been designed to reflect the rural surroundings of Corsley Heath. The facades combine brick slip and render finishes arranged in soft, banding patterns inspired by nearby Victorian cottages. Sustainability measures such as electric vehicle charging points, bat and bird boxes, and low-carbon materials further enhance the environmental credentials of the scheme.

The Corsley Heath project showcases the efficiency and quality that can be achieved through modular construction. By manufacturing off-site, Rollalong significantly reduced on-site activity and community disruption, with the majority of work completed within days of module delivery.
The scheme achieves excellent energy performance and supports Wiltshire Council’s ambition to deliver sustainable, affordable housing at pace. Its mix of social rent and shared ownership homes helps foster a diverse and inclusive community, while the modular approach ensures high build quality and long-term durability.
