Rollalong designed a unit that was light enough to be manhandled on and off a lorry, but was sufficiently sturdy to stand the test of time. Constructed of corrugated aluminium, these buildings lasted for many years, and in 1977 we presented Hampshire with its 50,000th shelter, proving Rollalong’s innovative design was a real winner!
As well as these popular shelters, Rollalong also built mobile medical units, dental clinics, tool trailers, toilet units and other versatile buildings for the Authority, showing that there was a Rollalong solution for any problem. Although Rollalong buildings have advanced significantly over the years; the fundamental principles of off-site construction remain the same – whereby they offer a number of advantages against traditional construction.- Buildings are completed up to 50% faster than traditional builds
