Following a six-day audit by SGS at the end of January, we have now received certificates for our ISO 9001:2015 for quality processes and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental processes which are valid until 2022.
The audit focused on the entire business, including the office, construction and manufacturing departments. This is the first time we have included the construction part of the business within the scope of our ISO 14001 due to significant improvements and investments over time.
The accreditation’s are thanks to all of our employees contribution, hard work and commitment to Rollalong and our offsite construction processes within the residential, education and MOD construction market sectors.
The accreditation’s are now available for download on our website:ISO 9001 Certificate and ISO 14001 Certificate and accompany our commitment to Construction Online, NHBC, LHC and CHAS accredited bodies across our permanent offsite manufacturing business located in Dorset.
Rollalong Permanent Offsite Construction have been shortlisted for two categories in this years Offsite Construction Awards.
Our extensive accommodation project for the MOD which has housed over 400 Service personnel in just over 12 months has been put forward for: ‘Best Use of Volumetric Technologies’ and ‘Housing Project of the Year’.
The awards evening is being held at the ExCel in London on 6th March.
Relocation and Re-Purposing of Rollalong Modular Buildings – MOD Office Use
With redevelopment work underway at the MOD’s Barracks in Ludgershall, with plans for 246 new army family homes, Rollalong have assisted in creating space by relocating two of their existing modular buildings to Barracks in South Cerney.
Included within the relocation project was refurbishment and conversion of bedrooms into office space, under DIO design guidelines.
The relocation project involved transporting the modular units a distance of 36 miles, combining two buildings into one larger structure and significant internal work. This highlights the flexibility provided by a Rollalong modular building – and has provided fast track office accommodation for the MOD.
Rollalong recently handed over the 18-bay building for use at Duke of Gloucester Army Barracks complete with new floor coverings and decoration throughout, as well as updating the fire alarm and lighting installations to meet current BAFE certification requirements.
A 14 module and a 9 module accommodation unit were combined into one larger 18 module building. Rollalong focused on utilising the most suitable sections of each building to create office space complete with WC’s, kitchenette, shower room and stores. Each single living bedroom was converted into 2 person offices, with a number of existing bedrooms combined to form larger meeting rooms and open plan offices.
On 25th October, Rollalong were invited to attend the official building opening. Lieutenant Colonel C G Munce MBE RLC Commanding Officer and Mr Barry J Ray, ABP Delivery Team South Lead unveiled the building plaque and commented on the speed and quality of the delivery.
Aspire Defence Capital Works have produced excellent time lapse footage which showcases soldiers’ modular single living accommodation under construction on Salisbury Plain. The construction is being delivered by Aspire Defence and Rollalong for the Army Basing Programme (ABP) and Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
The provision of modern, flexible single living and working environments to soldiers across Aldershot and Salisbury Plain will enhance defence infrastructure and create a new home for troops relocating under ABP in 2019. The fast track installation provided by Rollalong Permanent Offsite Construction is a key element in delivering the build programme successfully.
The time lapse shows footage of Junior Ranks’ Single Living Accommodation (JR SLA) at one garrison where Rollalong began offsite construction work in November 2016, and where over 1300 single soldiers’ bed spaces will be delivered in total for ABP.
Rollalong will build 1600 modular buildings for the ABP project at this Army Barracks, comprising 57 buildings in total – some of which can be seen in this time lapse footage.
